Electrician pricing in Leeds is not a mystery. Below is what fair pricing actually looks like in 2026, from a small job like a socket replacement through to major work like a full rewire. Use it to sanity-check any quote you receive.

Hourly and day rates

  • Standard hourly rate: £55 to £65 per hour
  • Full day rate: £380 to £450
  • Minimum visit charge: £45 to £60 (covers travel plus the first job)

Small jobs

  • Replace an existing socket or switch: £45 to £55
  • Add a new socket to an existing ring: £75 to £95
  • Add an outdoor socket: £120 to £180
  • Replace a pendant with a downlight: £75 to £120
  • Replace an extractor fan: £85 to £110

Medium jobs

  • Set of 6 LED downlights installed: £220 to £280
  • New immersion heater circuit: £280 to £350
  • Bathroom light and fan replacement: £180 to £250
  • Outdoor lighting to a garden path (SWA in conduit): £350 to £500

Larger jobs

  • Fuse box replacement (standard): £450
  • Fuse box replacement (RCBO board): £695
  • EV charger install (7kW): £800
  • Full house rewire (3-bed semi): £5,500 to £6,500
  • EICR (3-bed home): £150 to £180

What legitimately affects the price

  • Access difficulty (loft runs, joist trenching, wall thickness)
  • Existing wiring condition
  • Whether Building Control notification is included (it should be)
  • Whether certificates are included (they should be)
  • Whether making-good the plaster is included (varies)

Red flags

  • Cash only, no VAT receipt, no certificate
  • Refuses to quote until they see the job (some jobs do need a survey, but a socket replacement does not)
  • Quotes wildly above the ranges above with no explanation
  • Cannot show NICEIC or NAPIT registration
  • Wants deposit over 20 percent up front for a small job

How we quote

Free home survey (in person or via WhatsApp photos for simple jobs), then a fixed written price on the spot or same-day by email. What we quote is what you pay. If we find something extra on the day, we tell you and you approve it before we proceed.
